A fully responsive agency website, the team at Crowd have done an awesome job with the build, keeping to the original vision and adding some nice touches along the way. A great site we are all very proud of!

Name creation and logo development for yoga retreat travel company based in Thailand. They wanted a clean and simple mark that embodies there core values. The final device features the key letters of the logo R + T + M, constructed in a way that gives a sense of (inner) reflection as well as creating a 2 negative space characters back to back sitting in lotus position all wrapped up in traditional Thai styling.
Another cool project with the agency 'Crowd'. Awesome images to work with and a great team to see the build through to launch. This website is to promote a collection of ultra luxurious villas in Mauritius, so it needed an ultra slick and high end look!
Name creation and branding for Australian Tech, HR & Big Data company.
Design project for Men's health magazine via the digital agency Bravand. The project was to do design the website to promote the Paco Rabanne Invictus Season 2 show where athletes from across the globe compete to win the coveted title. Staged releases were required to deliver certain content on date specific times, so different variants of pages were also created.
Billaway offer a rewards scheme for their clients to help the end customers save money on their bills.
A clean credit card style 'B' logo was created, with the dot from 'i' (symbolising a coin / money) repositioned to give the feeling of removing cost... full stop!
Their website was then given a modern facelift implementing the new branding style.

It's fairly rare that the key characters from the logo name allow you to create such cool negative space. Combine the F + D and a little bit of tweaking and you get stylised negative space of someone flexing their guns! Love the final mark, and we're just developing the website now...
Branding, creative direction, packaging and website design for a really cool brand in body building supplements. Based around a periodic table style theme, a dark cool look was developed.

Here's the next deck in the line of custom playing cards for my brand Mechanic Industries. I wanted to change things up a bit and not get to stuck in the whole 'gear' design style. Clean lines and modern design with our trademark 13 repeating back system, the Optricks deck has lots of cool new features built in. Here's the ad copy:
The new Mechanic Optricks deck has been stripped of any embellishments and showcases what 'less is more' really means. Composed of simple black and white lines structured in a geometric retro style pattern, just looking at a card starts causing mayhem for your eyes! Riffle through the cards to really make the magic happen. Fitted out with a hypnotising & mesmerising animation that will enhance and give narrative to your magic performances, as well as just looking damn cool!
We've also created an awesome new feature that allows you to visually reveal a card in the flip-book animation! The deck also comes with 2 custom Jokers featuring the Grinder coin artwork, as well as an additional Joker gaff and blank facer card. These cards are a creative extension to the deck, like a magic tool kit allowing you to create your own routines.

NEW Flip-book animation reveal!
As well as having the awesome optical illusion style flip-book animation, the Optricks deck boasts a completely new feature. We've in-built a card reveal into the animation - the popular force card of 7 of hearts. So now you have a totally new way to reveal a selected or thought of card, as well as opening the doors for some really cool magical routines such as 'Transmission'.
NEW 'Grindout' custom cards
Now you can perform the highly visual 'Grindout' trick with an added phase thanks to an additional custom gaff. The extra Joker gaff sees the Grinder Coin starting to make it's way off the card. So a simple colour change gives the impression that you are sliding or flicking the coin of the card. Then make use the blank card to rip the coin out right into the real world!
I initially came up with a couple of concepts, a safe standard type version and one that really pushed what was achievable in terms of design and how it would be produced, luckily both Lightmaker and the client opted for the push the boundaries version! The brief was to make the user feel like they were at the tournament if they could not attend in person. This was achieved in a few ways; with large background images that update depending on the state of play, weather conditions and breaking news and designing a system that allows the content to float on top of any image and still be 100% legible which was a tall task considering how much content had to be displayed. There was the next challenge! There was so much information that had to be accessible from one place within a couple of clicks, as well as the live updates surfacing. This meant a flexible tab style system.
I was really happy to work on this project with Lightmaker, a lot of hard work and time was invested in this project, and our efforts were rewarded by being short listed for the Adobe Max 2011 Awards in the Entertainment section. To be recognised for your work is one thing but this was a massive achievement to be showcased in this way by the company that leads the way in the digital world.
After the success of our blockbusting Mechanic Deck, we decided to take it in for a bit of a service. We didn't want to just to create a slightly tweaked colour version - so we completely overhauled the deck enhancing both the design and functionality making this the best Mechanic deck to date!

The backs are more visually appealing in spreads and fans thanks to the pop rivet designs and stepped border adding interest and variety. The same great animation system has been applied but with a couple of extra additions making it look even better as well as easier to read as a marked deck.
More contrast in the back design means the animation stands out even more! We've encased the chain in it's own guard and added even more cogs to really bring the flipbook to life. Riffle through the deck and take her for a spin! The deck still uses the same 13 back system but with some additional subtleties, watch the video below to see it in action.
Upgraded animation system now makes the backs even easier to read. We have created two points of reference in the cog rotation, and after a bit of practise this makes the card value a piece of cake to spot. Now you can divine suit as well as value thanks to a clever little marker that hides in plain view. Impossible for your spectator to see but noticeable at a mere glance for you!

The new website launch tied in and supported our new product releases. Both Ignition and the new Mechanic Deck Vr2's packaging both lead customers back to the site where they can learn more about the product, learn how to use them effectively with exclusive video tutorials. Customers and fans can also join the Workshop and get new tutorials and other exclusive content and offers.
Mechanic Industries has been a long time coming for me. Throughout my design career I have always searched for that vehicle to enable me to create my own brand & products. After 15 years as a professional designer and 9 years of fanatically practising and performing as a card magician the time was right to merge my two creative outlets, and Mechanic Industries was born.
If you are unfamiliar with the term 'Mechanic' in terms of cards, a 'Mechanic' is a card cheat, that fixes games. Nearly all moves in card magic come from the 'mechanics' grip. So Mechanic taps into the very essence of card cheating, magic and gaming. Mechanic Industries offer premium tools for the working magician to give them the edge over their competition, as well as products for everyone to enjoy.
Mechanic has been running successfully for just under 2 years, and we have moved from doing direct sales via our eCommerce website to becoming an exclusive partner with Murphy's Magic, who are the main wholesale supplier in the magic market.
The Battle Orders game for LEGO® STAR WARS™ has just gone live for you to play on-line, or download to your iPhone / iPad. A fun little strategy game where you can conquer worlds and become master of the galaxy!
A real fun project to work on. My role was to tackle all elements of the design from game logo to HUD elements and style guide, to the explosion effects in game. This game doesn't use a single word of text and was quite a challenge in doing so. LEGO® games are deployed in multiple markets so not having to worry about localisation was a real plus so we could concentrate on game play!
The first product to launch my brand Mechanic Industries was the ground breaking Mechanic Deck. Armed with a completely unique flip-book animation system that uses a 13 repeating backs to create an awesome animation effect. Not only does it look cool and is fun to play with, but for the more serious card workers out there it doubles up as a very easy to read marked deck.
To accompany the deck a stainless steel card guard was designed and produced to keep your cards in perfect condition. It also completed the look and helps set performers apart with a fully branded presentation. As well as the card guard, coins in specific sizes for magicians we produced and the Pro-Tool Kit was born. A first of a kind, branded set a complete set of tools for working magicians and enthusiast alike.
You can do some really cool stuff with the deck, as well as combining it with other Mechanic products to create jaw dropping visual magic. Some effects were in-built during the design phase. For example, the Jokers from the deck have the same design as the actual coins we produce, so this allows a very visual trick called 'Grindout' to be possible.

Combining Mechanic Products
The deck has been sold on numerous websites and has been hugely successful! Initially designed just for the magic / card enthusiast market, the deck has broken out and is being sold on 'geek / gadget' websites also, proving it's universal appeal. The second version is due to launch very soon and we have some big plans for it...
UI Design and creative direction for Lego Chima - Speedorz - Legends of Chima Racing game.
Here's another project I worked along side 4T2 for Lego's Legends of Chima Speedorz game which is available for iPhone and iPad. I was responsible for setting the style of the game interface and in game UI elements, designing out all of the screens and creating the style guide. Here's a nice little app I designed for Lego Starwars with 4T2 that has just gone live. It is a platform for fans to upload and share their creations, as well as viewing other fans creations they have built out of the Lego Starwars range. There's tons of other goodies in there such as game reviews, videos & much more!
My role was to come up with a style guide and design out all the screens from wire frames so the technical team could implement the design easily and effectively. It is already receiving great reviews in all markets and getting 4 or 5 stars each time
Poker chip style coins for the serious coin magician. Expertly designed and produced in copper, this soft metal is perfect for coin magic.
These coins have low 'talk' noise and the milled edges offer excellent surfaces for gripping, whilst maintaining effortless glide properties across other coins. These coins are specifically designed to age and wear, the more you use them, the better they will look! They are the perfect accompaniment to your Mechanic Deck and Card Guard, offering a fully branded experience and a highly professional look for your performances. They also can be combined with the deck and other products to create some interesting and highly visual magic!
Full & half dollar sizes were designed and I'm planning on expanding the range to offer various 'gaff's and additions. The Grinder coins have been extremely well received and many expert coin magicians have switched over to using our coins as their preferred weapon of choice.

We received a call at the office from Night himself, his kid had been looking at the J. K Rowling website that we created at Lightmaker and he liked it so much he got in touch. Overjoyed and excited I spent 2 days and 2 nights (no break!) coming up with the pitch work that would land us the job. That was only the beginning of the sleepless nights.
We presented to Night via the pitch work! He clicked on a TV in the interactive scene and it had a live web cam feed of us in the studio, we'd say "how about trying to get into the door with the paint pot next to it" - he got the concept immediately and we were off! A huge idea with massive design and technical implications had been unleashed - part game, part film, part website, the Night experience really rewards fans who know every little detail about Night and his films, the more you know the more you can uncover in the site, really prompting users to go and watch the films.
Set in Nights fictional writing retreat, this spooky old house has clues hidden all around; the ground floor contains all of Nights films, hidden behind doors with puzzles reflecting the hook of that particular film. So for instance for Sixth Sense, whenever Cole saw 'dead people' it would go really cold and you would see his breath... so to enter the Sixth Sense room, you had to drop the temperature using a thermostat out side the door... then when you enter the room, there are further puzzles to solve and items reflecting certain part of the films to interact with to launch hidden personal content from Night.
The second floor houses all of Night personal information, downloads and access to the attic where his most personal information such as early films he directed as a child can be found.

Here's some designs for the pitchwork for the re-development of chelseafc.com for the digital agency Lightmaker. We came up with the concept of the match day live console, which is basically like a real-time visual radio.
Live tweets and images via social channels, commentary and video highlight points... ie shot, goal by Drogba would be pre-set stylised video to really give the feel of the game and cut over the action.
Winning pitch work for the re-development of the Fairtrade Foundation website for the digital agency Lightmaker.
Aris are not just a jewellers, they are a goldsmiths that specialise in 2 things. Supplying trade jewellers and creating custom bespoke pieces. I have taken the lead on every aspect of this project as if it was my own. From discovery to wire framing, from creative direction to management of the technical build, to even setting up a lighting system and camera for the client to ensure we get perfect shots for the site, which will really make it.

Thoroughly enjoyed this project! Pretty much had free reign over on this one. BodyAsRX is a service for gym owners to engage their members in challenges to improve their health and fitness. Re-engineering their very DNA as seuch. I evolved the logo, created the DNA / Science / Lifestyle branding, image treatment and designed out most of the pages for the web app itself.
Not being a full on gamer geek when the brief came in I didn't even know what a Tower Defence game was... After consulting with some War Craft gurus it all became clear and the resulting game was produced... I created all the artwork for this one from the conception stage, to the beautifully ornate HUD, to the backgrounds and all the animations and little explosion effects etc... a real pleasure to work on, I think you can tell I enjoyed this one!
Lego Racers adver-game for game studio 4T2. I was lead designer on this project, designing the game concept and all the HUD elements and directing the design team to create the in game 3D elements and scenery.

A quick job to design the style guide and screens for an interactive pairs game for multiple Mobil SHC exhibitions via a Microsoft Surface table. The game doubles up as a screensaver as well as subtly displays product information during game play. Designed with 4T2 & KHWS.
A NMA Effectiveness Award winning project for CBBC TV series Tracy Beaker Returns.
The real challenge of this project from a design stand point was to stay true to the original illustrations by Nick Sharatt, showing all the custom backgrounds and fully editable avatars in the Tracy Beaker style but at game friendly angles and situations. I also designed all the HUD and most of the design elements.

I had great freedom and worked with an awesome team to set the visual direction of this addictive and fun puzzle game. I created the logo, style throughout the UI including the game screen and animations, effects.

Fastest Time Wins was launched by Chris Moyles and his breakfast team in October 2009 and formed part of their “Get Your Game On” week of events.

Branding for copy writing firm based in the US. Two concepts explored, I love the idea of the air tube making up the name, but for the main brand logo was a bit excessive and a little too 'street' - so the tubing style was then adopted to b used as the branding for the blog section of the website, giving it it's own identity as well as relevance to the word 'The Bends'!
Logo design and branding for Amuzo Games, the publishing arm of 4T2 Multimedia. Specialising in adver & freemium games for the youth market, with clients like Lego, Mobil 1 & BBC. I initially came up with a few concepts, all bright, fun and full of energy to match the companies output. Amuzo translates from Esperanto as 'Fun', so the logo had to have it's own energy. The type face was adapted and tweaked to add flair, flourish and fun.
The final logo device was based on a triangular play button that has movement built into it, allowing for an effective logo sting animation as this one one of the requirements for intro at the beginning of their games.

A gesture based logo was developed, creating a hand based around the form of the letter 'W' so just with the icon alone, it kind of says 'W - Touch' as the w-finger is pointing to touch something. Creative direction for the re-brand for local website development company iSolve. Triangles are the strongest shape for building and are central to the iSolve brand, so this was the base of the main theme and was developed through other branding elements.

Design for the 2011 Red Nose day campaign fro Cafe Direct - Jump in the sac. I took care of the website design, animations as well as designing out the Race games.
Great project, I lead this from pitch work to site build for the digital agency Lightmaker. Was quite a tough brief when the guys from Innocent said: "Yeah, we want the site to feel a little bit crap!" kinda like they built it in their shed, wearing marigolds... that type of thing.
We built the frame work and structure of the site ready for their in house designers to give it the time, love and personal touch only they can. It has stood the test of time and lasted over 7 years! Unfortunately the times and technology move on and the site is no longer live, but it was a nice one from way back!

Here's a blast from the past! An amazing achievement at the time, just when broadband was starting to become available... we pushed the boat out and created a 1MB flash site - WOW! I worked on 6 seasons of Criminal Clothing websites / animations, god I wish I could find the files, good times ;)
